About the China Spring PTA

The China Spring PTA is here to serve the best interest of our students and children. Through fundraising and incentive programs we are able to contribute a very considerable amount into the schools that has an incredibly positive and direct effect on the students of our district.

While we are not in a large city, and with our area growing at such a rapid pace, it is imperative that we do as much as possible for the students in CSISD to enhance their interest in developing and continuing their education.

A brief history of the National PTA

For more than a 100 years, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has provided support, information and resources to families focused on the health and education of children. The organization was founded in 1897 in Washington DC as the National Congress of Mothers by Alice McLellan Birney and Phoebe Apperson Hearst. If not for these women and their vision and determination, there would not be a PTA, an organization that has been woven into the very fabric of American life. By whatever name it has been known, National PTA was created to meet a profound challenge: to better the lives of children. And today, it continues to flourish because PTA has never lost sight of its goal: to change the lives of children across our great nation for the better.

The Texas PTA was formally founded in 1909, and currently has over 630,000 members statewide. It is organized into 18 geographical areas, 93 councils & more than 2,600 local campus-level PTA's, and is governed by a 26 member Board of Directors.
